Hello everyone. For almost a year now I have been having problems. I always would have palpations for years so I am ues to that. However, for the past almost 8 mo now, I have gotton very rapid heart rate problems and PVC's. I had an ECHO and holitor done and several EKG's. I got them done due to PVC'S and a beat of 143. The past two days when I get up in the morning my heart would all of a sudden go really fast, I can feel it so I took my heart beat on my at home monitor and it was 178 at resting and I could feel it, then after about 1/2 hour it would go back down between 100-and 120 beats.
as of right now its smi-normal. but what is causing the incress in heart beat? the doctor said my heart looked okay and the PVC's are nothing to worry about but now my heart is racing. any advice would be wonderful, thank you all.

178 is quite high. has your doc had you wear a 30 day event monitor?

A few months ago I had a 24 hr monitor and then a Echo. and several EKG's. I really had all that done because of the PVC's. I have always had tachycardia, but I never had a rate over 120. Then when I went to the doctors a few months ago for the PVC's my doctor noticed a heart rate of 143, she then sent me to a carido doctor for all those other tests. Which came back pretty normal from what he said, he was worried for a while that I had too fast of a heart rate, but then said everything seemed okay
It has just been the past few days that it has been that high, and it seems just when I wake up in the mornings for the first 1/2 hour. However, who knows that could change. I'm just worried now, I have a dr's appt the 26th of this month, I just don't want to die between now and then.

Just a thought. . . Are you on any antidepressant? Reason I ask is, when I tried taking an antidepressant, my heart did the same thing - it would race as soon as I got up in the morning and continued for half an hour. The same thing happened with three other antidepressants. At that time the doctor didn't know I had mitral valve prolapse. Went to a cardiologist, and he told me to never take antidepressants again, since some people with MVP cannot tolerate antidepressants.

Thanks for asking Seaecho, however I am not on any antidepressants. I am on an inhaler, but I have not taken any of it in awhile, especially, the day it happened. I also have stomach trouble, I wonder if they are connected.

I've been having stomach problems also... first I thought reflux, then maybe gastroparesis... however, after finding out I have sinus arrythmia/tachycardia for reasons unknown yet (wearing a holter now)... I still think there is some connection... hopefully it is all stress and anxiety... my main concern is my tachycardia right now and the random pains I've had at different areas over my back and chest... but who knows... could all be stress, poor physical condition, etc...

Yes, I too have had chest and back pains as well. I wonder though, if mine are related to acid reflux. The doctor told me not to worry about my tachycardia at the time, he said I was in the middle of the road. However, now it is getting worse. I had my gallbladder out in 94 and had stomach and bowl problems since, and now heart and bladder problems as well. It's never ending, and there seems like no answers in sight. Are you on any medication? are you always having problems with the tachycardia? I was told years ago I had bradycardia at night and tachycardia in the day, however since then it has gotten way worse.
