I have been having anxiety attacks off and on for the last 2 1/2 years. I am gradually learning how to deal with it, but now I am thinking that something is medically wrong with me. I get a headache when I standup, feeling like so much pressure is building up in my head. I can actually feel my pulse in my head. I have also been diagnosed with having a slow heart rate. Are these all symptoms of anxiety????

hi mzyouson...my doctor told me that it is common for anxiety sufferers to be extra sensitive to their heart beating. When my anxiety is bothering me, I feel it in my head and in my chest, like a hard pounding. My doctor gave me a prescription for Atenolol (a beta-blocker) that helps me, but I'm not sure if you could have it if you have a slow heart rate....but it wouldn't hurt to ask your doctor about it.

You sound alot like me. How is your blood pressure? My doc told me that usually anxiety sufferers have higher bp and a faster hr and that it was good that i didn't have that. Do you get dizzy when you are down and then get up right away? You may just have low blood pressure. I am not a doc but hope this helps

Sounds like me! I have low BP and have a slow heart beat when my anxiety is acting up. All my docs say "its anxiety"

I am guessing that you have had a 25 hour heart rate monitor - what was your minimum and maximum BPM and what is your average.
Also, what is your BP?
