Thank you to all of those who gave me advice and support. I was certainly more afraid than I needed to be. It wasn't fun, and the test DID get me very short of breath. But the Dr said my heart looked great. He didnt really go into it (I will get results in about 4 days). The tech said my EF looked (she didnt calculate it right there) to be about 60-65. No blockage. And upon exercising, my heart got smaller, Dr said that is a good sign. Anyone know why?? I have never heard of that.

Anyway...thanks all!!

An explanation would be the heart dimensions decreased as the workload is reduced and pumping strength has been increased. The afterload for the heart can be reduced with medication that dilate the vessels providing less resistance for the heart to pump against. Aerobic exercise will increase the volume of blood pumped with each heartbeat reducing the number of beats to meet the same oxygen/blood demand.

Makes sense!! Thank you. You are very smart!!

I did get my actual results. My EF is 55-60 - said very normal. Everything explored was very normal. I didnt have any arrythmia or PVCs during the test (of course) so they couldnt comment on that...but as far as ischemia, blockage, size, flow, valves, and all that...said everything was tip top. I was very glad to hear!!!!! I do not smoke (quit 3 years ago), eat fairly healthy, try to exercise (have a 1 1/2 year old, so THAT is exercise LOL), cholesterol and triglycerides are really good, normal BP for me is 100/60..so I dont have a lot of reason to suspect heart trouble (other than electrical). But my father did have open heart surgery in his 30s and passed away at age 46 from diabetes complications. So..it is always in the back of my head.

Oh and the Cardio and my GP both commented on how great the pictures were. Said that the tech and I must have done a great job because they are normally not that good :)

I'm glad to hear that you're test went well and had awesome results! But now, you have me a little worried.

You said you got your results back in 4 days. Out of all the tests I've taken (if you take a look at my open thread "Syncope - What happened? My story!") I got all of my results the day of.

I got my results for my stress test about an hour or two after it was done.

...do my doctors just glimpse at them and not go over them thoroughly?!
