I have been on BC a little over a year now. About 4-5 months a go I switched for Estrostep to a generic form of Ortho Tri Cyclen. Since then, my periods have been 28 days on the dot with the following PMS symptoms: extra discharge, frequent urination, fatique, lower back pain, and mild cramping a few days before. My breasts sometimes swell, but aren't usually sore.
My last period started 3-29-06. Over the weekend, I guess the 18th, I started to get some PMS signs. Right now, my breasts feel a little bigger and are a little tender, I have a slight change in discharge, I am exremelty tired (but that could be due to my schedule and the time change), and I have some mild lower back pain. Every once in a while (maybe a few times a day) I get a pain around my ovarian/pelvic area.
My period isn't due until around 4-26. Has this happened to anyone else? Any suggestions?
THANKS!

If you are already on BC...the best advice I have is to start taking Aleve (naproxen sodium), about a week before you are to start your period.
As I got older, my PMS started to get bad and began about a week before my period, sometimes even earlier. I had a real bad time with PMS...pain, anger, crying, etc. I tried two kinds of BC, and every other remedy you can think of...nothing helped. I finally found out I had fibroids and endometriosis and had a hysterectomy in January. Now I have hot flashes, but no more PMS!
