For the last 3-4 weeks i have been very anxious and stressed over my health. It started about 4 weeks ago when i thought the pains i was feeling were of a heart attack. Pain in my left arm with numbess in spells, a few chest pains, pain in my left upper back , dizziness and flushing of my face. Made 2 trips to the ER had 2 ekg's, nuclear stress test, blood work and all that they said it was anxiety. Well the pain in my back and arms comes and goes but now for the last 3-4 days i have this burning feeling that comes and goes in my throat, not so much in my chest but in my throat, it will last for 5-10 minutes go away and come back during the day and stay for short amounts of time. I have noticed that i have had a very gassy stomache also since this episode of stressing over my heart. The doctors said my heart is fine and i shouldnt worry but i am still worrying, its on my mind ALL day. I just dont know what this burning is if its heartburn due to the stress. Has anyone had this???

the burning in ur throat could be acid reflux, I'm not 100% sure though.

It sounds like acid reflux, had some earlier today. Does it seem drinkking something stops the burning a little?

It does seem to help a little bit, it is worse today than it has been and i cant seem to stop having to clear my throat. What is best to use or take to make this horrible burning feeling go away?

My doctor gave me Zantac 150 (ranitidine) to take twice a day and it really helped. I took it for a couple of months. You can now buy this over the counter.

Hi getting gas and heartburn or reflux is VERY common with anxiety. The way my doctor explained it to me is that when we are anxious we tend to gulp a lot of air which obviously builds up in our tummy. It will get better when you can get your anxiety under control :)

!st of all it sucks, you may regurgitate it at night. It's not life threatning just as you lay in bed at night the acid creeps up your ersophogus. I have woken up several times with me puking it from my throat and out my nose.

OMG, the burn!

Don't fret.

Thanks everyone you definatly helped ease my mind on the burning. I went by my moms and took one of her tums and it seemed to help for a while, its not nearly as bad as it was earlier today. I just wish i could loose all this anxiety and quit worrying about my heart and having a heart attack, i dont like all this new stuff coming on due to the stress.

Have you seen a Dr? If so what did he say?

I have seen the ER doctor a few weeks ago when having all my test done for my heart and i saw my cardio after that. I go to my GP tommrow for the pain in my back and shoulder so i am going to ask her about this. Now the burning pain is gone but my throat hurts now ughhh this sucks!!!
