Hi! I was wondering what exactly garlic pills do. I heard somewhere that they clean out your body. Does anyone know what they do? Thanks for any responses! :)

They're rumored to have certain health benefits like aiding the recovery from colds, as increasing antioxidants in the blood which are said to lower bad cholesterol. However, to this date, I do not believe anyone has been able to identify the exact compound in garlic which gives it these benefits (in garlic these benefits are not rumored, they are well known). For this reason, certain pills may be entirely useless, much like how blueberries are far better for you than blueberry juice. I would recommend adding garlic to your menu rather than pills which may do nothing. You could also try adding more tomatoes to your diet as they'll help keeping you in top physical condition. Good luck.

I don't take the pills either but iv'e read over the years that the Aged garlic pills are good. However for me i take lots of garlic powder.(23 oz) containers. Garlic raises Glutathione (master antioxident) levels in the body, has Allicin which is a powerful Phytochemical which gives garlic its pungent smell which kills Cancer, chelates plaque in artery's, kills parasites and worms and candida in the intestines, can kill a whole host of bacterium and viruses. I even gargle with it for sore throats and healthy gums.(it burns though). Also about 15 minutes after i drink it i can smell it in my urine so i know that my Bladder and Kidney's are getting its benefits also...Just my opinion only but the 3 greatest longevity foods on earth are Garlic,Green Tea and Blueberries.
