If you have a pre-existing thyroid disorder, go slow. Some studies show that excess iodine can worsen autoimmune thyroid disorders such as Hashimoto's & Graves. If one is hyperthyroid for any reason, extra iodine can exacerbate the situation.
Having said that, I think kelp is a healthful addition to most diets. In addition to the iodine, sea vegetables like kelp contain alginates that are helpful in binding nasty toxic substances & escorting them out of the body.
Best wishes.

packed full of orgainc meinerals that help with nail and hair health. also seems to make both of these grow quicker as a positive side effect. the best thing i love about the stuff is that it is very inexpensive- you can pick up 250 tablets for about £2.50.

I bought some this past weekend. That sluggish feeling I get during the day seems to be gone. Also, I noticed a slight change in my appetite. Yesterday, I ate 3 meals. Today, it has been the same so far-breakfast and lunch. No snacks. And like ratboy said-it's CHEAP. I got 100 capsules for $8. I only take one capsule a day (per the directions).
