Hi everyone again. I have not been on in awhile just because it hurts to sit at the computer more than a few minutes.
I am still in a great deal of pain and burning and now it is interfering with my job as I could not function yesterday. Pain started in back of neck and extended to head and down middle of back into right shoulder. Headache turned migraine and nothing I took would help. Been up all night and now missing another day at work. My husband thinks its my job aggravating this because I sit with head bent running my machine, in addition to lifting 15 to 20 pound totes all day.
I do not know what is causing all this. Does anyone know if it is a problem with the screws or hardware is there any danger in not getting it taken care of?
With no insurance cant really go to a dr.

Sounds like you won't go to a Dr., Urgent Care, or ER, based on the earlier thread.

I can only indicate what I would do if I felt that same way. I'm not saying it's right or wrong.

Hopefully, someone else will jump in with some input.

I'd call HR, or whomever, and tell them that the bending of my neck over that machine and lifting totes all day has lead to pain so great that it has affected my ability to function, and I am going to see a Dr. right now.

I would specifically mention to the Dr.'s office that I am seeking an appointment due to a work related injury and file a Workers Comp. claim. Just because you have had previous problems does not mean that you have not been injured at work.

In my State, a pre-existing condition is irrelevant.

Alternatively, if you do not believe work has caused the current injury, claiming such would be fraud.

I believe I am going to go the route of at least having my work send me to a dr. I did call in this morning and tell them I had been up all night with migraine and severe neck pain, as they knew I was hurting yesterday when I left early.
I am going to do this because the HR from my husbands work called me and told me I needed to this and that a dr would determine if my job is the cause of this even though I have a pre existing condition, I had that taken care of 4 years ago and now am in pain. So am going to take her advice and let the drs determine if it is work related and take it from there. So when I go to work Monday that is what I will do unless I end up in er over the weekend,
THanks so much.....

Sounds like a good idea - just get in to to see a Dr.

Don't stress on the whole WC thing too much.

It can get pretty complicated at times. From my very limited exposure to these things - specifically in the District of my State - the employer will ALWAYS automatically reject any Workers Comps suit based on "causation." They also always lose once it goes before the local WC judges, because in my State the injury is presumed to have been caused by work unless proven otherwise.

HR won't have anything to do with it once the insurance companies and lawyers get their hands on it.

Don't get too wound up about that stuff - your health is #1.

I'm happy to hear that you'll be seeing a Dr.

I hope you find some relief soon.
