Okay, I have had 3 of what I am calling a yeast infection...............

Just about a month and a half ago, I had itching and swelling (from me itching myself no doubt) but no odor or discharge. (Atleast I don't think I had a discharge, I could be having like a milky discharge. Anyway, I treated it with a one day over the counter treatment and it seemed to have went away for about two weeks, right before my period I was getting ithcy again and when dh and I had relations..........well there it was it was burning and itching, so the next day I went and got another 1 day over the counter yeast infection medicine and my friend gave me a diflucan to take and it seemed to go away and I felt really good down there, no this morning, I am feeling like I am gettting itchy again...............I have no idea what is going on it is driving me nuts! I have another month in a half to go before my annual pap and am wondering if anyone has had any similar symptoms.

Also, if it isn't a yeast infection would the OTC yeast infection creams even relieve like they are doing? I read somewhere that if it is vaginitis, you could treat it with pure apple cider vinegar, by using 3 cups in the bath water and sit in it for 20 mins. I was also going to get some acidophollus (sp), I know that that helps with yeast infections.

Can anyone help me? Thank in advance.

It was almost like I was reading my own journal when I read your posting. Now about the oneday yeast infection cream, a doctor once told me that those types of cream are not any good. Reason why it does not stay in your system long enough to get rid of the yeast infection, where as the 7 day creams stay in your system longer. He told me that it is just a temporary solution, that sometimes some of the yeast can be left behind and it will just resurface. Right now I am in the process with my Doctor to find what keeps causing my yeast infections. The first thing he will do is test me for diabetes, reason why that is a symptom of diabetes. When a person is a diabetic they have sugar in their urine and yeast thrives on sugar. That may not be a classic symptom, but it is a symptom. I would love to go 6 months without having a yeast infection. One other thing it also sound to me you could have BV. I was having the same problem your describing and that was what it was. I have never tried any homemade solutions for any type of infection, because I was afraid It would make it worse. Good Luck

Also your DH could have one and keeps sharing it with you. Sounds like BV to me, too.

What is BV and can they get rid of it with antibiotics? And if it is BV, will DH have to be treated also? Would he have any symptoms? Adn how would they check him  How do you get BV? Thanks for the reply.
