Such as leg swelling? thanks... TiredALot51 01-19-2001, 06:34 PM Hi! I just recently stopped taking neurontin about a month ago. If we are speaking about the same medication, it is an anti-convulsant. I took it because a year ago, going through menopause and suffering from osteoarthritis, both of which can cause depression, I had a seizure. It was an iso- lated incident and has not happened since. A CAT scan revealed no brain damage or tumor activity, thank God. But, my psychiatrist put me on it anyway because, at times, I was getting headaches and they did not want me to have another seizure. I do not know what was causing headaches. Neurontin acted as a stimulant with my system and I could not sleep very well with it. Sometimes it had me extremely HIGH!!!! Out of my head high!!!!! The doctor prescribed trazedone, for me to sleep, but I had bad reactions with it and did not like it. I hallucinated colors in my head. I got off trazedone. I am chemical sensitive and after awhile experienced head- aches with the neurontin. I did not have a history of mental illness, associated with seizures, so am off neurontin. It reacts like speed in the system, definitely an upper. Now off, of it, I am sleeping much better, but as yet, still up at night, but rest part of the night. Better than before. It will definitely keep you awake. First post I've seen about neurontin. I was on 1,800 mg. daily. Sincerely, Pat TiredALot51 01-19-2001, 06:34 PM Hi! Seems to help a little. Mark |
