Hello Leela, Your best protection is to have a good anesthesiologist. So many people give the surgeon the hero's salute when his surgery is successful, but it is the anesthesiologist who literally balances the patient between life and death, and who deserves much of the credit. He not only puts you to sleep, but continuously monitors your vital signs and advises the surgeon of your condition. In the movies, its the surgeon that brings the person back from death...in real life, it's the anesthesiologist. May God care for you, Oldguy
