I was wondering if neuropathy causes pain in a mans phallus? If so what can be done about it?

Hello Mark, Diabetes is so complex and affects so many different parts of the body, that I would not be surprised. If you go to the response I posted to you under neuropathy, you would see that it mentions this also. With respect to B6, I take 200mg daily and have done so for ten years. This is 100 times the recommended dose. I found it prevented my cold feet that I used to get continually (likely from bad circulation). I started with 300mg, but dropped to 200 after one month.
I am so sorry to hear about your Hashimoto,s. I know very little about it other than it is an autoimmune disease and despite synthroid replacement, it still leads one to depression. And believe me, depression is terrible enough. I'm sure that the endocrynologist has checked your anterior pituitary to accertain that the problem is not there. If not, have him do so since it is the regulator of the thyroid's output.
God Bless, Oldguy

I have to be honest. When you write extremely long paragraphs the words seem to blur together. But I did read it again. I'm not sure I agree with all the vitamin and mineral stuff but I will do more research.

Also cold feet and hands can be caused by raynauds phenomenon(sp?) or raynauds disease. I found out I had what is called reactive raynauds when I was cut at work about 10yrs ago. Believe it or not I actually do believe that vitamins can help with this condition. Other things that help is not to smoke, where warm gloves in the winter time when you go out. Also dressing warm will help. Another way to treat raynauds is with beta blockers and I don't recommend those(yuk).

Thanks for the response.

Hi Mark, Raynauds phenomenon is not such a phenomenon in that it's fairly common. It deals with coldness and numbness in the wrists and hands caused by the scapula (shoulder blade) encroaching on the nerves beneath it. That's not my case. You are right about smoking...It does cause crosslinking of the collagen in the blood vessels and makes them rigid. It also has some tendency to constrict the arteries since they have vascular smooth muscle beneath the endothelium and they tighten up. These are the mechanisms by which smoking raises blood pressure. Thanks for the thoughts and God bless, Oldguy

Raynauds phenomena is caused by a illness or has some reason for being there. Raynauds disease has no reason(no medical condition causes it). I have raynauds disease and unfortunately I smoke also.

I wish more people would post on this board. I like to chat with people.

Wow Mark, I learned of Raynaud's Phenomenon thru a neurologist friend of mine when I worked at a hospital, and I blindly gave you his description. You forced me to look it up and I found that it is either of two types: Raynaud's Disease, and Raynaud's Phenomenon, which is also called the secondary form. It can exist as a neurological response of unknown etiology, or in the secondary form can be the manifestation of a whole pile of conditions from the one I gave to multiple sclerosis, carpel tunnel, etc. It turns out that it's not as simplistic as I thought. Thanks again for the information although the part that tells me you have it is saddening. You have more problems than you deserve, and I'm going to make it a point to hold you in my prayers. This is not a joke, for I believe in the Greatest Physician and know he does listen... God bless,
Oldguy

Your welcome. I don't consider raynauds as being a serious condition. Thanks for the prayers.
