Ok.. so im really obsessed with food and my body. Im underweight, but the thing is i can NEVER wait till my next meal. Especially during weekends because since we have school mon thru friday i have to wait till a certain time for lunch, but over the weekend ill set a time like 1 to eat lunch and i end up eating it at 12 because i cant resist. Its hard to explain, like all i think about is the next meal. Its not that i want to eat.. its just i cant stop thinking about it. Im not anorexic or anything , i eat normally but i cant get the thought of food out of my mind and its driving me nuts. If i ever get bored im just waiting and waiting till my next lunch hour or meal time.. and i have no idea why. I really want it to stop.

I do the EXACT same thing!!
I will wake up and have B/f then I will be like okay, 4 hours until lunch....and Im like always looking at the clock, (even though im really not that hungry)
Doesnt it get annoying?? i hate thinking about food all the time.
What do you do to get the thought away?>
It seems like weekends are harder becasue you can eat whenever. I like need to eat on schdule to feel in control/. its weird.
Im glad that I am not the only one who thinks about food alot!

are you girls sure that you're eating enough for breakfast? that could be the cause of your mid-morning "lunch obsession." also, it's TOTALLY normal and healthy to have a snack between breakfast and lunch. seriously, it is! i usually eat breakfast at 9, a snack at 11 and lunch sometime between 12:30 and 1:30. if i didn't have that 11:00 snack, no WAY would i make it till lunchtime! think things like yogurt, some fruit, some crackers, whatever. not a HUGE snack, but not like one grape, you know? anyway, hope this helps!

Have you ever read about that study they did with healthy guys, having them eat only half as much as they normally would over I think a 6 month period? They pretty much ALL became obsessed with food. I think it may be a reaction of the mind/body to chronic undernourishment.
Even though you say that you eat normally, maybe what you consider normal is not as much as your body needs?
I can totally relate to that total obsession. It was really bad for me when I was anorexic and then when I was still very much underweight but trying to recover.
Do you remember a piint in time when it started?
Have you always been underweight? Do you think the two may be related?
Keeping busy is certainly a good thing to do about it. Finding something that you really get into, that's what you need I guess. Whenever I have had something like that, the food obsession went to the background.

My whole family has a very high metabolism. I mean VERY HIGH. My mom has been pregnant two times and she isnt even that chubby plus she eats ALOT. For breakfast i either eat cereal and some fruit.. or Oatmeal and some fruit.. lunch i usually eat a sandwich and yogurt/cheesestick/chips or w/e .. and for dinner usually anything. I have been practicaly underweight all my life.. i eat ALOT though.. I had two dinners yesterday haha.. and i love to pig out on candy especially at movie theatres. I usually get alot and eat it all with popcorn. I know for sure i do not have an eating disorder and i eat fine... i havent really thought about it today though.. which is a good thing.

hey,
i just wanted to let you know that i think you might actually not be eating quite enough for breakfast and that's probably why you're thinking about lunch all the time. (and i'm in no way suggesting you're purposefully starving yourself, etc., lol!) anyway, i eat very similar foods to you for breakfast (LOVE cereal, especially lucky charms, lol), but i do eat more, so i think i can give you some good suggestions! for example, i eat cereal or oatmeal, plus a piece of toast with jam and a yogurt for breakfast. then i eat a piece of fruit for a snack between lunch and breakfast. so maybe try something like that? it's still the same breakfast essentially but i think that little bit of more food (toast and yogurt) really makes a difference in terms of keeping you full till lunch. another thing that's great to add is eggs, either regular or hard-boiled. for some reason, whenever i have a hard-boiled egg with my breakfast, i stay full even longer. who knows, must be that protein or somethin'! anyway, that's my suggestion. hopefully it'll help ya' keep going strong till lunch!
