While I was at my brothers last month I used his lateral thigh trainer for a couple minutes just messing around. I felt quite the burn in my thighs. I have been thinking about buying one, however just question how good it really is. Would I get the same benefit from just starting a walking routine and or biking. I looked on ebay and there seems to be several for sale making me think it really is not all that great. Any thoughts...

Walking/jogging is much better exercise, for cardio benefits and fat loss. Probably cheaper than a treadmill, but not worth it in the long run.

Naxis, I tried my friends machine for a few minutes and it kills my lowerback to use for extended periond of time why would that be. I have been motivated and started a walking/biking program. I figure I walk for about 45 minutes at a good clip. I would like to add in biking but it wont be very fast because my kids will be with me. Any suggestions on putting together a routine. I was thinking alternating every other day with walking/biking. I would like to loose 10lbs by the end of May.Thanks in advance.

I really don't know a lot about the Lateral Thigh Trainer, so I'm not sure why it would hurt your back. It probably just forces you to hold your balance in an awkward or unnatural position. Biking is great and if you bump the gears you can make the workout better even if you aren't going very fast. Walking is okay, but jogging is better. I don't know your fitness level, but intensity is what makes or breaks your fat loss progress. If you're able to do intervals of jogging, absolutely incorperate that. But basically keeping heart rate up for 30 to 45 minutes at a time is the goal, so do whatever you're able to do. And keep diet clean, of course. ;)
