I'm thinking we need something really positive here. There is an angel in my life I wanted to tell you about. I am a first grade teacher, in a fairly prestigious district. We got a new principal last fall - someone I liked immediately, but didn't see as anything more than a boss. In January my life fell apart - I'd been in recovery for a while, since the birth of my sons. Then - the bottom fell out. The depression and anorexia took hold in a major way, and I found myself floundering. My principal has turned out to be an amazing friend and confidant. She helped me find the strength to get back into therapy, find a psychiatrist, start the right medication... She has taken my class so I could take phone calls from my therapist at odd times, found coverage so I could make appointment, sent countless supportive e-mails, and invited me to eat lunch with her (then gently pushed so that I would actually EAT). I have no fear of repercussion with her (after all, she IS my supervisor). She is a friend. There are such people out there. They are hard to find, but they are there. Anybody else have an angel they'd care to describe? I think it helps us know we are not as alone as we may think...
