Do any of you use a heart rate monitor? I am considering buying one but do not want to pay major money for one. Any suggestions?

You can buy a basic Polar monitor for about $50. It's as good as any. Make sure it has the chest strap. It doesn't have all the fancy stuff like memory, average heart rate, max heart rate etc. If all you want is heart rate, this is the way to go.

I agree with Rick. Mine is a Polar and works good.
