If anyone has any information please let me know..I'm going to the dr tomorrow..there is some pain in my chest but nothing that is really painful.hope to hear from you soon thanks

well I'm kinda upset with this dr he is just a reg dr not a heart dr or anything..he did know blood work or any test what so ever..but he told me he was going to treat me with two kinds of meds and see if it helps..he said well heart problems don't run in your family so I wouldn't think it would be that..which it don't but my mom dad and brother has high blood pressure..my blood pressure has always ran around 98 over 58 which I always thought was low..but yesterday it was good it was 130 over 82..but he gave me some meds in the office that didn't help the pain or burning in the chest some kind of cocktail..he said he was going to put me on protonix which is for hiatal hernias..which I don't know why he put me on that I don't think I have that..and for the circulation something called cyclobenzaprine.the protonix didn't help at all unless it has to get into my system..and the cyclobenzaprine made me so sleepy that I couldn't tell if the circulation was better or not anyway just wanted to give an update

I'll be 35 in may I'm female and I'm really short 4 11' and weigh about 100 pounds and he acted like because I was so young that I shouldn't be having these problems.because I was so young and it doesn't run in the family he ruled out anything to do with the heart..it would have made me feel better if he ran blood work or sent me for xray or something.but nothing.how can a dr just give you meds with out knowing for sure what is going on with a persons body??..I guess I need to think positive about this and just see if this meds works

Hi, the Cyclobenazprine would make you sleepy, it's a muscle relaxer...also known as Flexoril. I don't understand why he would put you on this medicine unless he thinks you are spasming or have a sciatic nerve problem. If you had a problem with your sciatic nerve, you would have pain just below the backside of your hip and the pain usually runs down one leg. The Protonix is for acid reflux disease, are you having belching with burning in your asophogis? If you have answered no to any of these, I would seek a second opinion.

I don't know why he put me on Cyclobenazprine I'm not having any pain below the backside of my hip or down one leg.I have tingling feeling in both legs that I notice only when I'm laying down at night or sitting that keeps me up all hours of the night....also I'm not having any belching or burning in my asophogis..the burning is all in my chest area with pressure and pain that is not real painful but I know it's there ..he did give me some cocktail in the drs office that didn't help..I was kinda upset when I left there because he didn't do any testing at all

I think you need tests. Period. I don't understand why some doctors don't listen....you have got to remember: this is YOUR body and you have the final say in your treatment. The burning in your chest could be from a hernia or acid, but I would think testing is indicated to make a diagnosis. Go with your gut instinct, even if you have to go to the ER. Take care. Penk.

this is day two being on the meds and I'm still not feeling better..I took the Cyclobenazprine before I went to bed and still felt tingling feelings in my legs..my hubby thinks I need to see another dr.I also still have the burning feeling in my chest..I might have to give the meds time to get in my system but I wish they would hurry up and kick in

Yeah I agree you need to have testing done to rule things out or in first.I was also told by a ER doctor one night when I went in with left arms pain had little chest pains but not at that time...anyway he told me "well you are only 31 yrs old and no real family history of heart problems BUT I really want you to have a stress test with echocardiogram done" this was after he had taken a chest xray, ekg, and blood which all came back normal.I went ahead and had my GP schedule that stress test had that done which also came back normal. So I really dont know what was causing my issues but anyway my point is just because you are young with no real family history of heart trouble does not mean it cannot happen and alot of doctors are that same way as the one your seeing.I would get a second opinion if nothing else it could give you peace of mind!

I'm not doing any better at all...now I'm hurting in my shouder blades and under my left arm the burning almost feels like my insides of my chest are on fire..if I'm not feeling any better by the time my husbands gets home I'm going to the Er..this scares me because I've never felt like this before

Truthseeker,
Flexeril (cyclobenzeprine) is tough to take...it makes you so spaced out!
Doc is giving it to you to ease muscle spasms...it works particularly well in the neck. BUT you really have to give it about 2 weeks to do it's thing.
