:blob_fire I had taken the Hep B completely in 1998 but lost the record. So, when I migrated to NY, I needed this immunization record for going to High school and since I didn't have any record of Hep B vaccination, they gave me the same stuff in 2000. Now, my 3rd dose was due in March 2001. But I had moved out of state and never followed up on that. I have been without health insurance ever since. Now I need to document complete immunization which is a drag.

Now do I have to start it all over again given that my third dose is about 5 yrs overdue?

What is the consequences of having it so many times. I had already successfully finished the course in 1998!

Any suggestion/info will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

If I'm understanding you correctly you already had the 3 course vaccination for hepB ? If so they would only need an antibody test to see if you had all 3 vaccinations instead of giving you the whole series of shots all over again .

You dont need to start the series over again. If you have a doccumented record of two, then you only need the last one. It's probably cheaper to get the shot than get a blood titer done to check your antibodies but you can do that if you choose. Having the series of shots over again is not going to hurt you, but since you only need the three doses for full immunity, the extra two or three is not of much added value.
