I have genetic ITP, in which my spleen kills not only my bad platelets, but the good as well. Luckily, my platelets are normally in the 50,000 - 70,000 range.
Lately, I've been having more of a discomfort than a pain under my ribcage near the bottom (where the doctor normally feels of my spleen). When I lay on my left side, it sort of feels like there is a water balloon under my ribs that rolls around and hurts a little. Does it sound like a swollen spleen - or maybe just a pulled muscle.
Oh, as a kid, I also got costochondritis (sp?) a lot, but it was always higher in my chest and felt like I'd been severely bruised - not like this.
The reason I've come to a forum for a thing such as this is I'm a little worried, but I don't have insurance yet ( I recently began a full time career and my insurance doesn't start until next month).
Any advice is greatly appreciated!
