Adding Wellbutrin to the current antidepressant seems to help some people. Seen this combo more and more over the last year, online that is.

I have never heard of adding Wellbutrin to an SSRI to help with sexual side effects. Rather, Wellbutrin is often what people on SSRI's are switched to when sexual side effects are a problem on the SSRI's.

If you go to the OC Foundation website, you will find a section on Adult meds for OCD that will tell you things you can try. Something they have just discovered that helps many people with this side effect and starting to be prescribed by psychiatrists is Requip. My psychiatrist heard from other psychiatrist about this producing very good result with many of their patients and he is now prescribing it as well and reports good success as well. Since this is an off-label use of Requip, there are no guidelines for dosing. My doctors starts his patients out on 1/2mg a day and goes up slowly if needed. I am having great success with it at 1mg a day and I am happy to report I am having no side effects from it either.

If the SSRI is working for your depression, you might want to try it and if it works you could stay on it. If not, you may want to talk to you psychiatrist about trying something else. Good Luck!

I've seen the Wellbutrin combo in the last year online. There're even names for the combos now, like Welloft; a Well./Zoloft combo. It didn't sound right to me either, but there ya have it. And it seems to work for a lot of people.

Looked up the Re--?- med mentioned and it's a "dopamine antagonist" for what that's worth. Wellbutrin also works on dopamine, according to some other info. Interesting.

Oh, plus, depending on what his a/d is, there may be a "meds holiday" but that's after he's well established on an effective dose. It wouldn't be a good choice for meds like Effexor or Paxil, but is for some. See if he will talk to
his doctor--they've heard about this side effect a bunch of times.
