Hi all,
I ran across a thread about DMSO cream and that it works as well (or maybe better) than Acyclovir cream? I wanted to know how true that is for anyone. I had to buy the acyclovir cream for the first time the other day and even w/ my insurance it cost $80, and it was only for 5g! If I can find an alternative then I'll gladly use it b/c I can't really afford to pay that much everytime I feel an outbreak coming. So if anyone has any suggestions please let me know. This might be the 2nd time someone's seen this since I asked this question in my last post but I decided to start a new thread since it's a new topic.

I've been using DMSO cream (70%) and it's been clearing up outbreaks very quickly. It also has a cooling feeling that makes the area feel better. I apply it about 3+ times a day to the affected area. I have never used acyclovir cream so cannot compare it to that and if it works better or faster. But in every stage it helps prevent the visible OB and it clears up bumps/sores in about 2-3 days. I buy it online on never an outbreak for about $18.
