I am new here but would like some information if someone could please help me. My mom just passed away on April 28, 2006. She had **** and thats what she passed away from. She lived with me and Hospice came in and took over and she lived 10 days. What I would like to know is, is Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (****) a form of cancer. The reason I am asking is because my Mom had a cancer policy that she took out about 40 years ago and don't have a clue if they will pay off on that claim. I can't turn the policy in yet because they have not recieved a death cercificate yet and the main policy that I turned in is the one that I took them. i totally forgot about the cancer policy until I was going through my Mom's things and ran across the cancer policy. Any info would be appreciated!

No, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is not cancer or any form of it. It is damage to the lungs caused from smoking or some other irritant that makes breathing difficult. The bronchi in the lung narrow and air cannot move in or out. It's not always fatal, but depending on what is causing it, it can be.
