Do people take anti depressents in the mourning or before they go to sleep.

They vary really some can be taken at night, mostly the one's that contain a sedative affect as well as AD. ie Amitriptiline.

Your Dr or pharmasist should direct you.

Antidepressants can normally be taken in the morning or at night. They have recommended times to take them because of their bieffects - mirtazapine for example will make you very sleepy, so you take it at night. SSRIs can make you anxious, so it's better to take them in the morning or otherwise you might not be able to sleep. When I was on Zoloft I took it in the evenings, didn't get any sleeping disorders and of course it worked just as well as it would have would I have taken it in the morning.

I take mine at night just out of habit now mostly .It used to make me sleepy but not so much now. Take care Mizzy

I take Effexor and Wellbutrin and the mornings. These antidepressants keep me awake. I cannot sleep a night so I take Ativan which calms me so I can sleep. I also take the Ativan for anxiety.

It depends on what your are taking and the way it is prescribed according to the type of form/s it comes in.

These meds are sometimes taken twice or three times a day. Some SR (slow release pill) are taken twice a day and some come in the form of XL, extended release and you only have to take them once a day and it doesn't matter when you take it.
