three weeks ago i started having bad pain to the right side of my belly button
my doctor sent me for a cat scan then i was admitted to the hospital they said i had appendicitis and a bad gallbladder a surgeon came in and said i was ok just needed my gallbladder removed sometime. i went home after 2 days of nothing being done. i really dont feel like its my gallbladder since this is almost always there pain no worse after i eat but no better i eat fine
but still having the pain 3 weeks later it feels like contractions on the right of the belly button. my bowels are fine i do get dizzy and feel nausea at times
i am 44 female they want to take out the gallbladder in 2 weeks from now
i am scared of going under i am on heart medicines for a-fib. the surgeon hardly listened to me tell him my symptoms and he never even felt my belly just went from what the report of the cat scan said

It is your Wright as a patient to get a second, third or even fourth opinion - until 'YOU' are comfortable with the outcome.
Sadly, doctors are not always correct on the diagnosis and that is why we have the wrights to get other opinions.
Good Luck!

Hi Your pain and discomfit does sound like appendicitis and not gall bladder.
Gall bladder pain is up higher near your rib cage and the pain also radiates to your back. Maybe they saw that your gall bladder is diseased but the pain sounds like your appendex. Appendicitis pain usually starts around the belly button area then travels down to the right quadrant. Anyway I would get another opinion. Good luck.

Unfortunately the pain may NOT be coming from your gall bladder. But if they looked at your gall bladder and said it needs to be removed then you definitely needs to be removed. Even if it is not causing you pain, if it is diseased or has gall stones in it, it needs to come out. If it gets worse it WILL cause you pain and depending on how bad it gets it can be deadly. So, I would definitely keep the appt to have it removed. Who knows? Maybe after it comes out your pain WILL be gone.
I had pain similar to what you are describing and at first they thought it was my gall bladder or appendix as well. But after doing all the scans and tests they found that both organs were functioning with no problems. I was in the hospital for 7 days trying to get diagnosed! It turned out that I had horrible torn ligaments in my abdomen. I have NO idea how I tore them, etc... I hadn't been excercising or doing anything overly physical or different from my daily routine. But it was extremely painful.
SO....your pain could be coming from many things. You need to try and get to the bottom of it for sure. BUT, if they saw problems with you gall bladder and determined that it needs to come out, that is what you need to start with. Then go from there.
