Hi there! Have any of you made postive experiences with suplements/ herbal remedies for spider or varicose veins. A lady on the board mentioned Gotu Kola to me but I'm not sure if this is really safe. I have already had some sclerotherapy for my spiderveins but it doesnt really seem to work that well and they just come back.
hoping for your input :)

Hawthorn is supposedly good for circulation, thus, varicose veins.

Mellag....Once getting these its very hard to reverse without medical intervention but that being said ''Horse Chestnut'' is the best for Varicose veins. Also Gingko is good for peripherial circulation. Hawthorn is good fior the heart (CHF) more than micro circulation to the extremities......

Actually, I meant to say horse chestnut as well. But if the veins are prominent or you're experiencing pain, as you reported, the best course might be to have them removed. However, this is not an inexpensive procedure and insurance companies are very reluctant to pay for it as they often consider it a cosmetic procedure. My friend has been going back and forth with her insurance company for over a year trying to get them to reconsider. But they won't budge, even with her doctor's recommendation that they be removed.

Eating cherries actually prevent varicose veins. I've been eating a bowl of cherries per day, with a few grapes. And studies also show that cherries can prevent cancer growth. Just for your information.

Mellag...Horse Chestnut is an herb that comes in pill form. You can buy this at any heath food store. What it does is repair/build the capillary micro- valves that keep blood from flowing backwards and rupturing the veins (vericose veins).....

Someone mentioned Ginko, but my mother ended up with a raised vein in her leg after being on ginko for a short term. Her doctor prescribed ginko as she always felt cold from the waist down. I know it could be a coincidence, but her doctor told her to stop taking it. Prior to this she had never had any problems with her veins what so over.
