I just started using Bare Ess. make up in December and love, love, love it. For over 30 years I have used liquid foundation and never thought I could ever go to powder. Your face will never break out again...at least mine doesn't. So knowing how much I love it, there is a problem. With age, 3 mos until the big 5-0 ---I have quite a few mores on my nose and near it, chin and forehead. The BE makeup seems to really bring :nono: :dizzy: them out. Yes, I do use Mineral Veil, but no luck. Any suggestions would be so appreciated.
For those of you who have never tried the line, especially with age and those who might have Rosecia (sp?)....it truly is wonderful and I am so picky. I have built up a great collection of the eye shadow. The awesome colors are snow (soft white) for below brow area or even lid. There is a new color, summer...really pretty with a slight sparkle (not glitter) in it. The cashmere and cocoa are great below the white under the brow, either or. I have several others, but these are great. Eye liner line is great from BE too. Don't invest in their line of brushes, one brush runs $24.00. Go to your craft store and buy a good brush for about 7 or 8 dollars. They work well if not better. Get a very fine brush for the liner and make sure you don't get too much powder on it. You can always dab it again and again. The liner last forever. The blush is nice too.
Sephoria line has awesome lip and eye liner for $4. Goes on smooth and stays on good. Get the white liner and do you upper inside lid and it will brighten your eyes.
:D Just a few hints....

I read another girls post about this and she sprays her face with something like Evian spray, and rubs the powder lightly with a sponge. she said it covered the pores so that they were not noticeable.

I would consider buying one of the BE brushes. Maybe the baby buki (it's a bit less expensive than the full sized one) I tried using some of my other brushes for the mineral veil and they just didn't have the same effect (they were high quality brushes too!). In any case, I get rid of the pores by using mineral veil first, with the BE brush, then I buff, buff and buff some more. Works really well for the pores on my nose. For me, it seems like the more I buff, the better.

I've been using BE makeup for over two years now and it's the best makeup I've ever used. You couldn't pay me enough to go back to liquid or mousse foundation!
With that said, I completely agree with splurging for the kabuki brush. It does make a difference. I also have large pores in the t-zone area and the kabuki helps hide them so much better than the regular BE brush (or other brands of that type). I think just because you can buff the foundation in a bit more..
I have the large kabuki, but like the above poster said, the baby buki is just as good. I use the regular foundation brush for face colors and mineral veil to finish it off :D
If you can't afford the BE kabuki, I know there are other brands out there that sell that type of brush, but I have no idea how well they work with the foundation compared to the BE one..

I absolutely love BE too, just started using it about 6 months ago....I am early 40's and having those "fine" lines and I think BE really helps conceal them...my issue is do you really think you need the mineral veil????? I don't see a difference when I use it or not. Please advise. Thanks!

Honestly, I don't see much of a difference either, as far as how my makeup looks, but I don't seem to get so shiny during the day when I wear it. I have alot of issues with my skin, though.. oily t-zone with large pores, super dry everywhere else, extremely sensitive skin, prone to breakouts yet I have a tendency to get insanely dried out when I use a topical acne med.. it's really strange, too. Like, I'll be oily as heck in the t-zone, yet have flaky skin in the same area. I had no idea that was even possible LOL!!!

Thanks everyone!!! I certainly don't mind spending for things that work. Tomorrow I will head out and get the baby k brush. Sounds like a winner. Also I will take the advice to buff, buff, buff.... It all makes much sense when using this type make up. I also went out yesterday and bought the Mint Julep that I read about by another post saying that if you use it often it really helps with pores. CVS sells it under $4 and it's worth trying, especially since so many posted the kudos about it. Similiar to the post of Bare Ess. Why not!
Thanks again....I have always posted on the fibromyalgia postings and like it, I have found the nicest and most wonderful people as I have here. :bouncing: :bouncing: :bouncing: Annie

Amy, the baby kabuki does help. I did pick up one and buffing does help, thanks.
Dee, yes...ditto for me too. The pain has kept me away also. You just get so achey that it's difficult to keep up at times. We need some good answers for that too. Do take care and rest this weekend.... :bouncing: :bouncing: :bouncing: :bouncing: :bouncing: :bouncing:
