Hi everyone. I have posted on this board before regarding dentures, but am fairly new.
I'm thirty two years old, married three years, one child, and had all my upper teeth pulled almost two years ago. Recieved a full upper denture, and it looked great, the problem was, It felt like I was wearing a big bucket of poo in my mouth. I hated it.
So, long story short, I simply just stopped wearing it. Now here lies my problem. I feel very, very unatractive, to everyone including my wife, who is wonderful and never made me feel that way.
My question is, has anyone else experience this? It sucks, and I personally don't even know what the "lesser" of two evils would be at this point, to wear an *** bucket in my mouth, or not to smile, or speak, or chew, ever.

Hi there
I got dentures 3 wks ago and they look good but I am having a problem getting used to them but I am determined because everyone says eventualy you will--how long did you try getting used to them?I hate the feel of them also but I never had any sores and can eat anything at all.I really hope there isnt some people who never get used to them,or if they are I hope I'm not one lol. Will you try again wearing them?Do they still fit?I do hate the being aware of them constantly, except when I'm sleeping.I do understand where your coming from-truly I do.

If you can afford it and since you are so young, I'd have upper implants put into your gums. You will have an open pallette and much less bulk, if any. Only have an experienced periodontist place the implants and a prosthodontist do the restorative work.

I can't stand them myself- the plastic just seems soooooo wrong! Ugh! I don't wear my teeth half the time. My hubby has no teeth, so.. But he looks good with his beard- for ME it's all about COMFORT and I do not care how bad I look, etc..I would rather go nekked ANYTIME!! And everyone else go to the devil!!
Rock ON! ha ha :) YOU have to live in this world -NOT THEM!!
COMFORT rules!! HA HA
Sometimes I still wish I had my nasty teeth-at least they were MINE, and I felt COMFORTABLE!!
I FEEL you- you are my soulmate- ha ha!
And the "worst" part about it is: I DO NOT EVEN CARE!!!!!
