Hello, for the past few days I've been very itchy on my scrotum and about 2/3rds the way up the shaft of my penis. It's not terrible itching but it's still kind of annoying, it's a little red at times also. I seriously doubt it's an STD since my wife and I are completely monogamous. Baby powder seems to ease it up a little, for maybe 20 minutes, I'm sore from scratching, now my penis & scrotum are sore. Any thoughts? Thanks

Could be a yeast infection...does you wife suffer from them? If she does and has had sex with you while she has one, she can give it to you. Also could be Bacteria Vaginisis or BV. Need to have a doctor take a look either way.
Good Luck!

Yup, sounds like thrush to me! Monogamy doesn't make any difference - women are certainly prone to yeast infections, usually due to diet, and quite frequently the female shows no symptoms but can pass it to the guy.
If you're into chemical, medical treatments then there are creams and a tablet you can take for it. If not, try covering the sore area in live yoghurt (though admittedly this is much more easy for girls than guys!!). Not sure where you are, but a company called Higher Nature in the UK make a product called Citricidal. It's grapefruit seed extract which you take 12 drops of in water, preferably several times a day. It always works for me - you have to persevere. The only drawback is that is is, without a doubt, the most disgusting tasting thing I have ever encountered in my life!! Still, no pain, no gain and all that.
So - hopefully you will find something to clear it up. Obviously, it needs to be treated somehow but you might not need a doctor. A pharmacist could probably do just as well if you describe the symptoms, but it sure as hell sounds like thrush to me.
Hope you feel better soon - AND STOP SCRATCHING!!!!!

Try the Jock itch isle. There are all kinds of powders, oitment and sprays. Use it for the time specified on the instructions not just until the itch is gone or if it is yeast or fungal it can come back more resistant.
