Hi ya.

lastnight i had to take my little boy to the hospital to see and emergency DR as he was really wheezing.

Iam a Asthma sufferer and have had it all my life.

The Dr said that my little boy has Hayfever.

But how does hay fever have wheezing and a cough?

My Mum in law Sai to the dr whats the likeness of it being Asthma as Dawn(me) has it.
All the Dr said was you had better get a follow up appoinment to see your nurse at your surgery.

She gave him a Sabutamol Inhaler(also with hayfever i lead to beleive you dont give inhalers to hay fever as it doesnt do anything )

Can any one enlighten me on any of this?

thanks in advance

Hey Dawn,

it is possible that your little one has asthma but he may also have hayfever. Seems odd that the emergency doctor didnt consider it when you took him in, has he ever had the wheezing before? I would take him to a paediatric respiratory doctor and get him assessed properly.

Good luck.

Hi he has never wheezed before but last year in jan/feb he had bronchilitis (sp) and wasnt given any medication as they didnt want to increase the risk of him getting Asthma.

We are going to ring our surgery up on tues (cos of bank holiday) and get him seen

How old is your little one? depending on the age there are some tests that can be done to help diagnose asthma.

Diagnostic tests for asthma can be preformed from about the age of 5 or 6 onwards, you may want to consider this when he gets older if there is still any doubt that he does have asthma (tho make sure that he sees a specialist paediatric respiratory physiologist, as they tend to get get more out of young kids than the adult kind!).

Hope you both are feeling better soon.
