I am just at the beginning with Morton's Neuroma(no pain--just clicking, etc..)Dx'd Friday.

Since I think I got it early---thinking about taking the Conservative approach, i.e., starting with Orthotics(inserts)since right now there is no pain. If that does not help---will prob move to injection(s)

Was wondering---how effective the various Orthotics are---any experience with them---would/could help me decide---type, etc...to get

Tks

Well, orthotics won;t cure it. They will just make it less painful to walk. The injections - alcohol, NOT cortisone - should kill the nerve after no more than 2 -3 injections. If all this fails to give you relief, the surgery is a breeze. Good luck!

Hi Titchou

Yes---that is what I had heard/read--no cure with the orthotics---was just wondering---what peoples experience had been with them---type to get...etc...

Figured I give them a try---first.

I tried it but didn't get any relief. I think I was beyond help at that point. I have a pretty high pain tolerance level so I was far along by the time I went to the doc. I then opted for the surgery. Just an FYI, I don't know where Chester Springs is but if oyu are close to Pittsburgh or Phillie, call the Steelers or the Eagles and find out who they use for this condition. It's often a sports injury. I'd try their doc for a good outcome. Good luck!

If you don't get a name from them, try the basketball team....I forget the name but know there's one in Phillie...lots of bball players get this too. Good luck!
