I just found out that my girlfriend of almost 2 years has HPV and possibly cervical cancer. So, I no doubt have HPV even though I have no symtoms but, I have a few questions about it......
1). Because she has the HPV that causes cervical does that mean I have the strain that causes cancer in men?
2). After she is treated for cervical cancer and if it is fully removed, does that mean she no longer carries HPV?
3). Her doctor told me that i have nothing really to worry about, so do I have anythin to worry about or don't I? Should I go to the doctor or wait to see if i ever get symtoms??

well as long as you dont have any warts ,if you have warts you need to see your doctor,but guys wont get cancer from hpv. If your girlfriend does the procedure for the hpv it will go away but she always have to check if it comes back , my doctor told me that suposesibly the HPV virus it stays with you for ever or somethihng like that, but as long as we keep going to the gyno and check if it comes back positive.its very confusing for me,you could do some reasearch on yahoo or google about it they will give you more info than me

HPV doesn't cause cancer in men, or any other symptoms unless you have a strain that causes warts. After the doctor removes the dysplasia (abnormal cells) on her cervix, she will still carry HPV. Procedures to remove dysplasia do not cure the body of HPV.

Not true. There are two known causes of penile cancer in men, HPV, and smoking.
You may have the strain which causes penile cancer. You need to get tested to find out, if that is possible. Being circumcised does not protect from getting penile cancer.
That is a myth. If she is treated for cervical cancer, or anything else, she will still have the HPV virus.

The link between HPV and penile cancer is tenuous. Ninety percent of sexually active men carry HPV, but only one in 200,000 men get penile cancer. Penile cancer is VERY rare.

You say the link is tenuous, but, rare as it is, HPV is the leading cause of penile cancer.

It depends of the strain of HPV he is exposed to. There are many varieties, and only a couple cause cancer of the penis, or cancer of the cervix. Of course, his chances of cancer, while still low, would be much higher, than someone who didn't smoke, and had never been infected with HPV.

Of the few that due cause cancer: if a girl were to contract the strain that caused cancer of the cervix would any guy who contracted HPV from her get the strain that cause cancer of the penis?

I think so, but I am not 100% certain. Still, his chances of getting it are very low, even if that is true. He should know, so that he can be mindful, to have it checked, when he is at the doctor. Circumcision is not that great a protection, as was once thought. One study showed that 37% of the men who got penile cancer were circumcised. So, I guess it pays for men to have any growths on their penises checked out.

I have no growths or warts on or around my penis. In fact i didnt even know I had this until my girlfriend was tested for it. So, If I go to the doctor and tell him/her that my girlfriend has HPV and Cervical Cancer, If I show no symtoms, how would they check for HPV in me or Penial Cancer? I guess Im asking how do they test for it men under my conditions?????

There is no test for high risk hpv in men.
