The Alive vitamin seems like it is loaded with great stuff. Would you consider it safe for a teenage boy as well. Also, why do you get it without iron?

Yes, I would recommend the Alive vitamin for your son.
The incredients they use are amazing.

Iron is a key component of a substance in the body called hemoglobin, which helps transport oxygen throughout the bloodstream. If you don't consume enough iron, you can develop anemia. Those at greatest risk for iron deficiency are teenage girls, women of childbearing age, and some vegetarians.
Women require more iron than men because of the blood loss they experience during menstruation.

Men on the other hand, dont lose much Iron in there body.
From what I understand, if a man has to much iron in his body its not good.
While women lose alot of iron through menstruation.
Thats why its important for women to take a multi with Iron.
The multi's without Iron are made for men.
