I make a fruit smoothie consisting of 1/2 a banana, 1/2 apple, 5 frozen no sugar added stawberries . somethimes a slice of fresh pineapple , sometimes a handfgul of mixed no sugar added berries . in to a cup of soy milk and add powdered vitamins and protein powder , do you think this is ok for type 2 ? It fill sme up and tastes good too.

It's certainly healthy, but it may be too many carbohydrates at one time. Do you use this in place of a meal, like for breakfast?

The best way to tell if this is okay for you, in your specific circumstances, is to check your blood sugars about two hours after drinking the smoothie. If your blood sugar is above 180 at that time, then it's too much carb for you. If so, you could try eliminating one or two of the fruits; then test again 2 hours after drinking.

Because fruits contain simple carbs, they get into your blood stream quite rapidly. They do, however, contain many beneficial nutrients. Quantity matters, so you may have to work to find the right amount for you to be able to drink.

I wonder if you drink it slowly over an hour and a half if that would help to reduce its immediacy. I do that alot with food while I am working. Of course, with a smoothie it will get kind of warm and yucky at a certain point. It sounds great.
