Any one know if there is any information/correlation btw. diebetes and ephedra?
I'm interested in people that were not previously diagnosed with diabetes but might have been after being on this.

Are you referring to ephedrine, as in the drug in allergy medications?
A varient. I'm referring to the stuff found in diet pills like "Metabolift", "Metabolite" and a host of other pills with some varient of this substance in them. Usually these pills also come with a healthy dose of caffine as well.

I'm certainly no expert, but I would think that these pills might have increased the risk since it increases your heart rate and metabolic processes. I don't think it could directly be a cause of diabetes though. I'm sure they contribute to insulin resistance because the body is suddenly thrust into a different metabolism mode quite suddenly.
Personally, I wouldn't mess with them. If you want to lose weight just exercise. If you still can't lose weight-then just accept it, that is how God meant you to be.
Unfortunately that didn't work. Metabolism tanked when I hit my thirties. The diet pills (been on them 2yrs) work. Lost 44 lbs, have lower cholesteral, lower blood pressure and normal pluse. take a third the max. dose 5 days a week.
Would NOT recommend pills. Have side effects.
