for years now ive had these tiny red dots all over my upper arms and some on my upper legs. they dont stick out like spots. also my upper arms r always very cold so pehaps poor circluation. my doctor says its coz i shaved my arms but they were there before i started shaving my arms. ne ideas how to get rid? as im goingon holiday soon and hate people seeing my arms!

It sounds like keratosis pilaris. Just dead skin that blocks the pores. You can do a search on the internet. I've read that a cream called lachydrin helps.

Hi, I used to have something similar to this, I thought it would never go but I started usung a body brush daily and exfoliated daily, making sure I applied moisturiser after. It takes 29 days for your skin to shed I've heard so get scrubbing.

It is keratosis pilaris. It is very common. The key is to moisturize. Lachydrin is great, but I think it is only available by prescription (which is fine if you have the ability to see a derm). You can also get lotion for dry skin from dermatologist-recommended products and eucerin over the counter. I haven't tried the body brush trick- I think I will.
