Hi guys. I can't find any info on the net on what range blood glucose should be in after meals. I've found the levels for fasting, but not non-fasting, and my doc is on vacation so I can't ask her. Anyone know? Thanks.

Sponsor Emily4 06-16-2002, 03:12 PM There is a great site that has a lot of info on diabetes. It is www.diabetes.org (http://www.diabetes.org) . It has a lot of info and it is very useful. Go here and ask your questions, becuase I have absolutely no idea either. ~Emily [This message has been edited by Emily4 (edited 06-16-2002).] SamQKitty 06-17-2002, 01:24 AM Lady - For normal people, their blood sugars are supposed to be back down to 120 two hours after eating. For diabetics, it is suggested by many that the levels 2-2/12 hours be 150 or less; some doctors allow them to go as high as 180. And, it's a good idea to occasionally check your post-prandial (after meal) BG. It's especially important if your A1C is higher than you think it should be based on your pre-meal testing. Sometimes post-mneal testing can give you an idea of what's going on. [This message has been edited by SamQKitty (edited 06-17-2002).] |
