I have a big problem that I do not understand and is very stressfull and scary. I'm hearing voices in my head that are negative about my self image. I am very scared of them, I feel like they're going to physically change me into what they say. I hear them all day almost every 5-10 seconds. It's driving me crazy. I don't know how to make this nice and short because I'm trying to but I do not know how to explain it. I start freaking out because my brain really believes that my appearance is going to change into something bad that the voices say to me. I'm constantly battling thoughts vs. voices in my head because I can't releive my self from the voices that I hear and can't convince my self that the stuff I hear is not true because my brain believes it. If someone can let me know if they know what kind of disorder I have so I can tell my doctor. I have not told anyone because it is embarrasing and don't know how to completely describe it, thanks.

I think you should go see a counselor, no one hear can tell you what you have but I think if you go to a professional they will tell you what you have.
good luck

I agree, make an appt with a phychologist or social worker and explain exactly what you've posted here. You have to take that first step to get on the road of recovery. Best of luck to you, pinkeetoz

you can also just see your regular primary doc and tell him what you just told us.he will then evaluate you and just talk to you a bit and will most likely refer you to the right type of doc for treatment.but you DO most definitely tell your doc about these little voices in your head.this could be a symptom of certain mental health disorders,or even certain brain issues.there are alot of people out there who suffer from this same thing you are talking about.please just see your doc and be totally honest about what you are hearing and feeling so he can make the best possible evaluation of your symptoms, and then be able to refer you to the absolute best type of doc for you to see.I wish you luck with all of this.please call your doc as soon as you can? keep us posted on just what you find out,K? take care scors,Marcia

hi, I went to my doctor and he sent me to a psychiatrist and a counselor. My psychiatrist said I might have Schizophrenia. She's had me on several medications this past few weeks like risperdal and seroquel but stopped those because of too many side effects it had on me. I'm on a new medication but forgot the name. It hasn't had any side effects on me yet so I'm just gonna have to wait for the new medication to take effect and hope to get better very soon. Thank you all for replying to my post, it releived some of the bad voices I was hearing in the mean time that I went to see my doctor.
Thanks again for all of your support.

well it sounds like you are doing all the right things here so thats good.just wanted to mention about trying any new meds.I am on many as well as my son(he also has a mental health disorder as well as a transplant)alot of meds will have some sort of side effects but alot of those usually will go away after a certain amount of time has passed and your body just adjusts itself to this new chemical thats now floating around in their systems.alot of the most significant side effects that I ahve had with some meds usually would go away after the first two weeks or so,so make sure you are really giving any med a good trial run before just stopping them.but on the other hand, some meds I ahve been on would actually be okay for the first wek or so and then all of the sudden start causing all kinds of really bad problems which would cause the need to stop it all together.so ya never really know about any actual med and how you will really respond, but if things don't get better after like two weeks of taking them, then I would definitely speak with your doc about going off them at that point.just make sure that you do NOT ever stop any med without your docs okay first as some, espescially any psyc meds, can cause some pretty nasty withdrawl symptoms if not actually tapered off.just gotta be careful with some of them.
i do hope you can finnally find the right combo of meds and therepys to help you get those voices under control.it may take some time but it is worth the effort just so you can feel better.please keep us posted,Marcia

hey, sorry for the late reply. I haven't been able to have internent access lately. Ya, I won't go off the meds because I went off them once when one of them gave me serious vomitting side effects and made my symptoms worse after not taking them. I'm back on meds right now and doing a little better. I'm currently taking Geodon or Ziprisadol. I'll keep posting later when I start feeling better and update what meds I'm on also.
Thanks again! :)

Hey, this is me again. I'm doing great now! Geodon did wonders on me, it helped me so much along with the support here. I actually had paranoid schizophrenia which was where the feelings of the hallucinations being able to change others around me was coming from. I recommend Geodon to anyone suffering from Schizophrenia, it helped me so much. And thanks again for everyone's support! :)

Hey scors_77,
I'm so glad you're feeling better. It might take awhile for your body to adjust to the meds but keep with them. They're are a lifesaver. I have Bi Polar disorder and I take Lithium and sometimess something to help me sleep. I've been well for over a year straight now and it's great :)
So i wish you many happy days to come. Be good to yourself
