I had never reall y thought about this before until I started seeing alot of posts about swelling and kidney problems. I have bad water retention, especially before my period. My ankles are always swollen so that i get these nasty looking indents from my socks. They stick around for a few hours. Anyway, I've also noticed for many years now that my urine always has this wierd clear oil slick floating at the top of the bowl. Its not detectable on a glance, but if you take a longer look, you will see something oily floating in swirls at the top of the water. (Iknow its disgusting, but...) Does anybody else have this? The rest of my family does not have this. Maybe its just hormones. or maybe I should get my kidneys checked?

I have clear oily bits in my urine. but mostly when my sugar levels are high. (looks a bit like baby oil). I think it has something to do with your body breaking down the fats to use for energy as your body thinks it is stareved due to not enigh insulin. I only think this is the cause. Check for Keytone.
