I am terrified of dentists and I have lousy teeth( not from lack of brushing or flossing) Among other reasons I have had a stillbirth ,a miscarriage, and I have 4 kids under 9 years of age and every pregnancy was a terrible time of vomiting. My current problem- I have had a cracked tooth on both sides of my mouth for 2 years.Rather than see a dentist,I have just ate mushier foods and alternated sides However- 2 months ago the pain got really bad.2 teeth (half of each) have fallen out of my mouth. It hurts to brush, mouthwash stings and I cannot chew on my back teeth at all.Metallic taste in mouth, along with sometimes bits of tooth fall out.(no one can see because they are my back teeth.I have now had a nagging cough for 3 weeks and severe headaches.Anybody have any idea if this also could be tooth related? The wind outside hurts my mouth.my gums feel odd like marshmallows. My friend said this could be bad for me medically, any input out there?thanks!

Hi there!
Your teeth can most surely cause other problems. Infected teeth and gums are nothing to take lightly. It sounds like you will need to get a good cleaning of the gums and teeth and maybe a couple of crowns, if those two teeth are still worth saving. Or I'd have them pulled, I would not leave them in my mouth. I am scared of the dentist too, so I know how you feel...but please go to a dentist. If you don't have one, ask around and see if a name keeps coming up. Best of luck to you!!!! I hope you can get it all sorted out soon... ;)

Sorry to hear about your problems :(. A lot of people get terrified after bad experiences with dentists, and I hope you'll be able to find a compassionate and gentle dentist who can help you. Maybe do a Google for something like fear of the dentist.
