Hi, My name is Kasey and up until 2 weeks ago I had no sleep problems. In the past 2 weeks, I have an extremely hard time falling asleep. I used to fall asleep like 10 minutes after I went to bed. Now as soon as I lie down even when I feel tired, I am wide awake. I lay there like 2 or 3 hours before I go to sleep. Then I am awake about 2 hours later, doze off if I am lucky and maybe get little naps the rest of the night like 10 to 15 minutes every 2 hours. I am lucky if I sleep 3 or 4 hours a nite. I am drowsy and tired all day. I bought an herbal supplement and have used it twice. It isn't working yet. How many days do you have to take these before they start working. I try to limit my caffeine intake to 2 cups of coffee in the morning. I have a doctors appointment next week. I am so tired. Why can't I sleep? It just makes no sense. Thank you to all why respond. Kasey

What type of supplement did you buy? I have been experiencing the same problem for the past two weeks as well and I have tried various things such as Benedryl, Valerian, and then finally last night I tried Hyland's Calms Forte. I fell asleep within about 10 minutes and slept six hours straight. At this point, I was grateful to get 6 hours! Hopefully, it will work again tonight.

Hello again, I have tried some natural remedies like Melatonin and for the last 2 nights I tried tranquilnite which I found in a natural products market. It has not worked as yet. I have never felt so helpless before. I go to bed and I do not feel sleepy. I think I must sleep sometimes but I just don't feel like it. I wake up or think I do all night long. I do not believe I am getting into deep sleep and am just catnapping all night. I am going to a chriopractor tommorrow and see if that will help. Boy, I sure could use one nights sleep without waking. Thanksfor writing back.

I have the same problem. I am never sleepy. I have slept maybe 2 hours every night this week. I am getting more and more depressed because I have a very stressful job and really need my sleep. I have to close my door at work because I cannot concentrate hardly at all and cannot deal with people talking and laughing in the outer office. Now I am simply depressed at the hopelessness of the situation. Everyday I contemplate suicide. Feeling more and more trapped.

I'm the same way! Just last night was probably my worst. I went to bed around 3-3:30am because anytime before then I can't sleep for sure, I layed in bed until 8am trying so hard to fall asleep, I think I got maybe 3 hours sleep out of the entire "night", or morning I should say. It's terrible. I recently started drinking pure chamomlie tea, since it's a good way to get drowsy before bed, it's only helped somewhat, usually if I take larger doses like 2-3 cups in a row, it's better. I haven't found anything that works yet unfortunately. I'm going to try experimenting with different herbal teas, anything natural as I don't believe in perscription drugs..... just hang in there, try different things, maybe chamomile will help you.

Looks like you guys r "DEFINANTELY" suffering from serious case of Insomnia, If you dont feel refreshed when you get up or you sleep couple hours every day, or trouble falling asleep, then you are DEFINANTELY Depressed or your biological clock is Messed up. 2 years ago I was like you guys, sitting der for 3 hours to fall asleep, and fighting my BRAIN to stay asleep, but kept on waking, and as soon as i get up it felt like i dint even sleep at all, it was like I was starring at the Ceiling all night. Go see your doctor and he or she will help you. DO NOT TAKE ANY DRUGS because it will make the insomnia even worser, it will destroy ur brain like it did to mine , the drugs even made me more crazy. Getting up early or having stupid baths, or reading a pathetic book, or drinking a lame cup of milk wont make u sleepy, Its all in the Brain and how ur brain acts when it wants to shut down, not even exercise can make you get that deep restful sleep that uve always wanted like me so ive been der and suffered alot in these 2 years of total crap. I soon found out that i was depressed, angry about skool, work, friends, family, I never really lauged or cant remember the last time i laughed, so the best thing u can do is forget about sleep!!! because this is the most important, if u send messages to ur brain and prompt it about sleep or insomnia it will THen start ur assault against u so dont make it hard for ur self, just go to sleep and foget about IT! soon it will go away, and this goes out to everyone on this topic. 1) BE RELAXED,MEDITATE BEFORE SLEEP, 2) DO EXERCISE, EVEN THO IT DOESNT WORK BY A LONG SHOT, IT WILL MAKE U A BETTER SLEEPER, 3) ENJOY UR SELF AND BE HAPPY, KEEP UR MIND OCCUPIED. Till now I havnt achieved in entering REM sleep, wehere hormones r released, this is the most important stage of sleep which is stage 3 and 4 sleep, <-- here ur brian is releasing hormones " ANTI AGING HORMONES " which control ur mood, alertness, concentration, and energy, so if ur not getting this type of sleep see ur doctor urgently because it is veery dangerous. as for me im sleeping 8 - 9 hrs every day, no trouible staying asleep nor falling asleep, but my trouble is now actually entering RESTFUL sleep, 'deep stages of sleep' so im gonna soon try to do 'light therapy', this is where u stand infront of a light for 1 hour and it resets ur bodies 'inner biological clock' located behind ur eye, so im hoping this works... u guys shuld try it. i hope i helped u guys.. write bak if u need any questions ... cya

stfu21...thanks for all the suggestions. I see what you're saying. I know if I ever saw a doctor, he'd put me on meds, I just know it. It's hard to tell a doc what you don't want. I try to do my own research first. I heard sinus problems are also a trigger, and that doing deep breathing everyday will help balance out the body and prevent problems from happening for good. I'm trying that. But seeing as how it's sooo hot here it's even harder to sleep because of the humidity. Sometimes I feel like I can't even breathe. I'll keep some of your suggestions in mind though...that light therapy thing sounds interesting.

i know how all of you feel i just wish it has only been 2 weeks for me. I have tried every sleep aid weather it was perscription from the doc, teas, over the counter, vitamins, you name it i've tried. It has been 9 years since i have slept more than 2 hours in a night. and its not 2 hours straigh it is 10 min here and there. I hope you can all resolve your sleep problems and don't end up like me. Good luck to everyone
