Good morning Jackie

My appt is at 2:45pm. I'll let you know if they give me my teeth back. They told me on the phone the other day that I WILL be getting them today, BUT they have told me many things and I'm not sure if I'm believing them.

When I get home later on today I'll give you my update.

Thanks for thinking of me :)

Hi Jackie,

Well I got to "see" my new teeth and they fixed my midline, I will have my front two teeth where they should be. BUT, they won't be ready until NEXT Wednesday!!! But thank the lord they gave me my OLD uppers back.....and the old dentist is GONE, not sure if he was fired or not. They didn't destroy them like he told me they were going to.

Well I'm gonna try to eat a steak tonight :) Wish me luck

I have been reading these boards because I am thinking of going to dentures if I don't resolve my tmj soon - and I was waiting to see how it went - I hope they are comfortable for you too. Eat a steak for me!

Hope, that is such good news! :bouncing: I was beginning to think I was going to have to help you straighten those folks out - all the way from Mississippi!! Do you think they had alot of complaints about that dentist? Hopefully whoever you see now is more competent and has some compassion.

I know that steak is gonna' be yummy to the tummy ;) .... The trick is small bites, okay.....let me know how it went....

Hugs,
Jackie

Good morning Jackie,

My steak was yummmmy!!! It was very tender, I had a baked potato and I make a tomato salad (tomatos cut up in chunks with olive oil, onion and oregeno)....my kids had a good time watching mommy eat :)

If he was let go due to complaints then the woman who puts in my soft reline will be next to go, she never smiles and she is always angry. If I tell her how my soft reline is going and god help me if I tell her after 2 weeks it will get loose she then turns defensive and starts yelling at me, and she will tell me well your gums are shrinking!!! I'm sitting there like WOW take a chill pill, I'm just telling you how the soft reline is working....lol I do feel for the Manager and the other girls who are sweet, how do they show up for work every day with these miserable people!!

The new lady is very nice, she looked in my mouth to see why my first set of uppers were sooo way off, she said it looks like there is a boney ridge off to that side and the lab probably assumed that was my midline. But since the Doctor (who is gone) put a pen line on the hard reline where my front two teeth should be, they fixed it.

So next wednesday I get a new smile :)

Thanks for the prayers they probably saved me and them!!!

I'm glad your steak was so good! :) Those tomatoes sound delicious, too....
Now the sky should be your limit...you should be up for almost anything now. I believe that once you've mastered the art to "chewing" the steak you can eat anything.

I know it's been a long journey, but you've come sooo far...I'm proud for you, and I know without any doubt that you are very very proud of yourself :D
Remember, I told you it does get better!!

You're constantly in my thoughts and prayers, as I hope I am with you.....

Hugs,
Jackie

Hi Jackie,

Have you tried eating a sandwich yet? This is the hardest thing to do and I can't seem to master it. If it is a homemade hamburger I can do it, but slap some lunchmeat on some bread and I cannot do it. Do you have any tips for me???

Oh and I cant eat nuts, I tried a cashew (figured it was one of the softer nuts..lol) had NO luck.

Hows everything going on your end? Have you tried any new foods???

Good morning Hope,

I can't master the sandwich meat, either!! Or the nuts!! Now, I can eat a sandwich like roast beef or something like that....chicken salad....I think maybe it's because the slices of sandwich meat are to thin or too flat :D I really haven't figured that one out!! My husband had a prime rib sub one day, and it had sooo much meat on it that he shared some with me - so I just made a regular sandwich...It wasn't too easy for me to bite into, but it was real easy to chew....I can't bite into the nuts, either....For Easter supper my youngest daughter made a grape salad. It did have pecans in it, but they were chopped up into real small pieces...I was able to eat them.

Hi Jackie

I got my new upper denture today, they fixed my front two teeth and they look alot better :)

I have MANY sore spots though, they couldn't fix them all. I was told that If I need more done to it I would have to make ANOTHER appt!!!! I guess they only put so much time aside for each appt. But they let me keep my ugly ones, I guess I'll use them to eat with until they fix all these sore spots.

Hope all is well with you, I'm having steak again tonight because its sooooooo
good :)

Good evening, Hope
I am sooo glad they finally fixed their mess up!!! Atleast now you can go around smiling at everybody....with that beautiful smile.

Enjoy that steak!! My hubby and I had beef stew....it was pretty tasty....

Billy, my husband, went to the doc today. He's been having some pains in his chest...they did an EKG and some xrays...all of that came back fine...They've got him scheduled to do a stress test Friday morning....so please say a little prayer for him, if you don't mind...They don't think there's anything to worry about.....just better to be safe and rule everything out....The doc told him that he thinks he's bruised the cartlidge between his ribs and sternum and that's what causing the discomfort, but he just wants to be sure...I can appreciate that...but I can't help but worry!

How's the weather been? I think about you when they talk about the weather up there in your area...We've had alot of rain the past few days, and had a few tornadoes in the areas around us....

Sure hope that you and all of your family are doing well...I look forward to hearing from you....take care. :)

Hi Jackie,

So sorry to hear about your husband, but I'm sure he will be fine. I know how you worry though, I worry about mine more than he worries about himself.

The weather was beautiful today .... almost 80, did the yard work and cooked out. Unfortunately it is going to rain for almost a week, starting tomorrow!!

I will add your hubby to my prayers, just take care of him :)

Hope
