View Full Version : I Found A Great Tanning Lotion

I started with Jergen's, and it smelled absolutely disgusting. Then I moved onto Olay Quench Radiance or something, and that smelled a little better than Jergen's, but with a very temporary color. Then I made the mistake of buying Dove Energy Glow moisturizer and it gave a dark tan right off, but I looked orange, it wouldn't even come off when using a shower brush, and it made me break out badly. Then I tried sublime glow, which has a different (bad) smell than any others, and barely gave a noticeable tan.

Now I found Queen Helene Cocoa Glow which actually smells nice, like chocolate or something, and gives a great BROWN tan, absolutely no orange. I can't believe I'm not orange. My bf has been inspecting me after all these tries and this time he couldn't tell it was fake. And he thought it smelled fine, not like the others where he didn't even want to kiss my skin!

I had no idea Queen Helene made a tanning lotion! That's great! I love Queen Helene's Mint Julep Mask, so I'd be willing to give it a try. Are you naturally fair skinned?

I'm gonna try this too! Is this one of those natural lotions that tan gradually or is it a regular self tanner? Also, is it tinted or rub off on white clothes?

Never heard of queen helene lotions, I use a malibu hemp lotion with bronze.

For the tanning bed i use swedish beauty simply divine with sizzle effect.. 15 min's in the bed leave a nice tan.

Is it a gradual daily moisturizing tanner like Jergens or is it a full sunless tanner?

Never heard of it.

I am liking Loreal Sublime Tan Towels. Awesome.

I started using the sublime 2 days ago and now I'm streaky! I thought this couldn't happen with the lotion versions! And of course I'm in a wedding tomorrow! Figures!

Question, where is everyone finding the Queen Helene products? I've read about several masks and now this tanning product and I'd love to try them but can't find them anywhere! I've checked W-Mart, Target and Wal-Greens- in Indianapolis, Indiana. Am I just missing them? What section of the store are they in?

Thanks!!

Try CVS. Have you looked in the face washes section of those stores? That's usually where they are. That sucks about the streakiness of sumblime. Are you trying to find a lotion to cover up the streaks?

This tanning lotion by Palmer's sounds good.. i need to go to wal-mart and check it out.

People say you can find it at WalMart but I never did. I guess it depends on the state you live in.
You can probably try CVS since I hear they have it there.
I live in MI, and I found Queen Helene Products at a Meijer store. I don't know if you have Meijer in IN, but if you do check it out, they'll probably have it.

Abbey32, do the Sublime Bronze tan towelettes have an odor? I like the tanning gel made by them, but it seems like the towelettes would be easy to use! I've been airbrush tanning at home and it's been so quick.. takes 5 minutes tops and I've been doing it in the shower to not mist it EVERYWHERE haha.

The only product from queen helene that I found only at walgreens is the mint julep and mud pack masques. I think if you cant find the cocoa glow in the stores youd need to buy it online. Thats here I found it but am still using the Jergens and so far I like it just fine. I do sometimes notice a smell on my hands even the next day but its not strong.

It's a white lotion for a gradual tan (just like Jergen's gradual tan)
I'm fair-skinned
I haven't noticed any rub-off onto clothing
I've only found the Queen Helene tanning lotion at Ulta
My boyfriend says I smell great.
I'm not that careful with putting it on, yet I don't have any streaks at all

I used the Loreal Sublime lotion last year and hated that. The towels are much better. They also have the towels for the face....have not tried those yet. I'm pretty pale too. I can do my whole body with one towel.

Hope you like them. :jester:
