Received a diagnosis on a bruise the dermo biopsied last week: Erythema Nodosum! The dermo said it is associated with auto immune diseases like Ulcerative Colitis (which my daughter has). I asked her if it's seen in Graves Disease. She wasn't sure. Anyone?

I have Grave's Disease I don't really know though, what did the bruise look like? Was it like a bruise you get from falling down or did it look like something else? I have these scattered patches on my body that look darker than my skin but they're clustered in dots or something its hard to explain, but they've been showing up ever since I was diagnosed about a year or two ago. I don't think thats what you're talking about though, so sorry if its not

It just looked like a bruise. Then I got another one on the other leg. Thought it was weird. That night I went to the Dentist for a cleaning (alot of plaque since diagnoised with Graves!), he thought it was DVT(blood clot)! Went to immediate medical, who sent me to the hospital right away. Ultrasound was negative! Then sent for a test to rule out PAD (arteries). Negative! In the meantime, since I have rosacea, a skin disorder, I went to the dermo. She didn't like it either. She cut me for a sample. The biopsy came back with this auto immune chronic inflammation of tissue disease called Erythema nodosum! Maybe you should go to a dermo & get it looked at.

Mondo, I had bump on my shin that wouldn't go away many years ago when I worked in the office at a nursing home. (I was pregnant at the time). The head nurse looked at the bump and pronounced it to me Erythema Nodosum. Said it was harmless, but to tell my obGyn, so I did. The doctor wasn't worried and it eventually went away on its own. Seven years later, I was diagnosed with Psoriasis, which is an autoimmune disorder, so I don't know if they were connected. I've never had a bump since, and haven't heard another soul mention the term till today. I hope that yours will go away on its own too!
