View Full Version : Addison's and Muscle Cramps

Can anyone adivise me? I was diagnosed with Addison's three years ago. Since then, I have been taking 30 mg of Hydrocortisone (20 morning and 10 night) and 1 mg of Fludrocortisone every day. Things have seemed fine. Lately, I have been getting muscle cramps. The other day, I was in the shower washing my hair and I got a cramp in my arm. This wasn't any extrodinarily strenuous exercise. Then, I was sitting at dinner last night and my hand began to contort. I know that muscle cramps are a symptom of the onset of Addison's but I've been taking the steroids for three years. Does anyone know if this is related?

Thank you in advance for any advice you can provide.

Take care,

PegZ

Peg, Would be good to see your doctor and get your sodium and potassium checked "immediately".

Are you taking calcium? This supplement helps with some muscle cramps.

Is there a reason you are taking the max dose of Hydrocortosone? You might feel better taking less. Check with your doc.

Hope your problem is solved quickly!

Wanda :)
