First I'll list my current medical situation:
Hashimoto's with overt Hypothyroidism (under control with good response)
Tested Negative for Addison's (Cortisol and ACTH challange)
Tested Negative for Pernicious Anemia and Thrombocytopenia
32 yo white (fair skin) male
Now for my question.
Within the last couple of months I have noticed a subtle change in my skin. Most noticable is the increase in petichia (sp?) on my arms. I have always had a fair amount, but now they pretty much are all over my arms (though very few on trunk or legs). In addition I have what appears to be a tan on the top of my forearms, but if you look closely it is more a subtle red/purple shading that is more dense around the hairs. I don't bruise easily and have no other symptoms, but it seems like I am leaking more blood into my arms than I used to. Is this a consequence of finally getting my hypothyroidism under control?
