:confused: First is it possible to get herpes other than through sexual contact? Okay to start not really sure if husband has herpes or not this is why I am here asking questions. He has what we think is a cold sore but he has had it for about 3 weeks now and it started to go away but it has not and it is now back to the same size it was when he first got it and now he has another sore by his nose that looks exactly like the one on his lip. But my concern is now that I now have a very irritating it on my vagina and did not have it there until after I had sex with him. We have been together 15 years and I have not been with anyone but him so this is why I am asking if it is possible to get it any other way beside sexually. :confused:

Unfortunatley yes, you can get genital herpes from his cold sore...it's a virus
(uncuarble) that is transmitted thru affected skin-to-skin contact....You both need to see a doctor and get tested....usually, if you have a cold sore - you have a history of them = does he have a history of cold sores???. Also, yes, the virus can take years to show....maybe - either you or he thought it up to something else....laundry detergent, rash, new undies, ect. My bf had it for 17+ years, (gentially - thought it was jock itch)before he had symptoms....I think BOTH of you getting tested - will give you piece of mind! But, keep in mind - it's not the end of the world....just a slight aggrevation from time to time...IF you have herpes, you'll learn to deal with it...Just as all of us here have...Good luck and try not to worry - it really DOESN'T CHANGE anything.....
