My DD, almost 7 weeks (where does the time go??) is starting to make the funniest facial expressions. However, I noticed today that while attempting to fill her britches her eyes went crossed. At first we all thought it was funny.. until she stopped and the right one went back to normal, but the left one seemed "stuck" in a crossed position. I then noticed it again tonight while I was feeding her and she was totally relaxed. It's like her eye gets stuck in a crossed position. It's always the left one.
It has me worried. Has anyone else experienced this?

By 3 months old their eye muscles should be strong enough that it doesn't do that anymore...sometimes if it doesn't correct itself (which is pretty rare) they will use an eyepatch over the stronger eye to strengthen the weaker muscles on the other eye, and if that doesn't work surgery can correct it...DH had the eye patch and surgery and his eyes are perfectly fine...he has better eyesight than me! And his scar is maybe 2cms long...barely even noticable at all.
But don't be too concerned her eyes will get stronger...I think DS was close to 3 months old before his stopped completely, the older he got the less it occured until it no longer happened anymore.

Ditto what PP said. At 7 weeks they are still developing their motor control, this includes their eyes. I remember getting worried when DD's eyes were crossed for what seemed like a long time.
I wouldn't worry about it unless it continues past 3 months.

Thanx guys. I never noticed it at all today. It seems she only does it when having a poop (among other funny faces :D ). It was just weird that that one eye got "stuck", but I guess I won't worry just yet.
