For the past couple weeks ive had pain under my lower right ribcage. Dont know what it is. Is it simply possibly a pulled muscle? Or something more serious? Please help. Its worrying me to death.

well i hope i canhelp a bit but my prob may not be what ur having. ive had this prob for years now and ive done some net research and all ive come up with is pulled muscles. about 6 yrs ago it got severe and i went to the docs who thought it could be an enlarged spleen!! i went for all types of tests and was so worried when all came back ok he said its just muscle related although i dont know how!! my pain isnt really a pain so much as a really dull ache almost like if u lift something heavy adn that burning feeling u get in ur arms when uve held it too long. ive had it on and off and really feel it if someone presses that area and it doesnt even need to be hard. its under my left rid cage. so if this sounds like ur prob i really wouldnt stress it cause alot of people have this. i find it gets worse if im bloated or if i sit up too long.

Could be pain from your gallbladder. Your spleen would also cause pain under your ribs, but on the left side, so you're probably okay there. But check into gallbladder problems.

Sounds like it could be gall bladder. Gall bladder pain can come and go for months or even years. Most gall bladder pain radiates to your back also.
Good luck

Thanks for all the help everyone. If it is my gallbladder, is it possibly something serious that I need to go to the doctor for? Or should I just wait and see if it goes away? (Maybe its gallstones? Im not sure)

Gallbladder pain can either occur as very intense attacks or as chronic more dull pain. Typical gallbladder pain is just under the ribs on the right side, may radiate to the middle of the back or the right shoulder. Also, it may be worse after eating, especially fatty foods. If your doctor suspects a gallbladder problem they may do bloodwork and probably an ultrasound to look for stones or inflammation.
Gallbladder problems can turn into emergencies. However, if you are not having horrible intense pain then you could probably wait a little while. You could try calling your doctor and seeing if they think that you should come in or wait.

Thanks again for the help people.
I just got back from the Emergency Room. It started hurting bad so I went and told them where the pain was. The doctor pushed on the area below my ribcage (I guess to check for appendicitus.) He also did a few x-rays on my chest area. The x-rays came back clear. The doctor said that they dont deal with specific things in the emergency department, but he said they just make sure you arent dying or need to be hospitalized. He said he can't assure me that there isnt something wrong, but it might just be a muscle spasm or strain. Please give me some input on this. Should I continue to persue the situation? or wait and see if it just goes away?

I would go see your doctor and get it checked out. They really should have done an ultrasound. X-rays don't usually show gallstones.

Is it possible to have gallstones in your feces?.. Because there were some white/yellowish stone looking things in my feces. Please help its really hurting bad. Would there be any other symptoms other than just pain? Like maybe fever, nausea?..
Also can gallstones kill you in anyway? Or are they just very painful.

If you are passing stones, you need to get to the doctor. Gallstones are usually sort of iridescent looking. I don't want to alarm you but they can - worst case scenario -cause the gallbladder to rupture or at least tear somethings internally. Have an ultrasound ASAP. Keep us posted.

It's possible to pass them... They can definitely cause dangerous complications if they are blocking a duct, including infection, liver problems, and pancreatitis. I would definitely call your doctor asap.

Diablo, get yourself back to the ER now! If the pain is that intense, it has to be something besides a muscle strain. Like someone stated, it could be gall stones, closed bile ducts, pancreatitis or liver problems. Thats what the feces sounds like, liver problems. All the above problems are very serious.
Don't wait. Good luck and keep us informed when you can.
