HELP ME!!
I have heard that if you wash your face with a soap that dries out your skin you will produce more natural oil and get pimples.
I have also heard that if you wash you face with oil you will produce less natural oil...but wont that clog pores and leave your face oily anyway?
I have oily skin, and get pimples on my forehead, chin, around mouth and around nose. What is a good but no expensive cleanser for my face? How should I take care of my skin...clean, exfoliate, mask??? And also what is a good product for pimples to treat and prevent?
Thanks!!!

You probably shouldn't wash your face with oil since it would just build up more on the natural oils your skin makes and cause more problems.
Plus most cleansers and makeup products are oil-free... which kind of explains it.
As far as pimiples go, you could try baking soda. I know that may sound weird, but washing your face with baking soda (using it as a scrub) helps dry up pimples (at least for me when I get an occasional one).
Plus it exfoliates your skin pretty well and leaves it smoother and softer.
I also like Clean&Clear producs. They tend to reduce oil and clean pretty well, and they don't cost a lot. Clean&Clear has such a huge line of products but I've only tried a few and they worked well. So you can probably shop around and find one that's best for your skin.
I also like Neutrogena Gentle Scrub. It cleans my skin really well and is another way to exfoliate.
I've also recently tried the Queen Helene Mint Julip Masque which works great for oily skin. It dries up all the dirt and oil from your skin.
I'd definitely recommend that.
If you want extra soft skin try applying lemon juice to your face after you wash it. I know that's a bit odd too, but it works for me, I love it.
Well, I hope that helps.

I also have oily skin. You should use an gentle-mild exfoliant every other day, a mild cleanser for both day and night, a moisturizer with spf EVERYDAY, and a product targeting your acne. I tried Pro-Activ, it works but the aftermath was harsh on my skin. I went to the doctor and have tried both Benzaclin and Klaron. Currently I am on Klaron…it works wonders

I wouldn't try washing face with an oil either.. it just wouldn't even make your face FEEL clean. It is very true that you don't want to use drying products on your face.. it backfired on me! Clean & Clear products are very good.. Right now I have their oxygenating fizzing cleanser and before that I was using Continuous Control Acne Wash (foaming cleanser) and before that Morning Burst! I must say that I have liked them all.. but for acne prone skin I'd recommend the foaming one. I switched to Neutrogena Deep Clean a while back and I broke out a lot. Clearasil also messed up my skin.
After washing, definitely use moisturizer.. here is a great one that would work: Cleen & Clear Dual Action Moisturizer.. it has salicylic acid to clear up acne and ligthly moisturizes any dry spots. It never made my skin feel oily at all and really did keep my skin clear. I still use it all the time! I'd use this or a gel moisturizer b/c those tend to not feel too creamy. I have a Mary Kay one with SPF and it's pretty good.
Make sure not to overdo it with the acne products. I used to use a 10% benzoyl peroxide Zapzit medicine.. it did clear up pimples, but I would use so much of it and put it all over oily areas on my skin. Then I ended up breaking out more OFTEN, so I would keep using so much of it. So, yes it did work, but it made my skin kind of worse, so it hurt my skin too. My skin got so shiny this year and I was always trying to get rid of the shine! One great product are Clean & Clear oil absorbing sheets. I tried the powder once (it is blue) but I didn't like it. The sheets are great b/c you can absorb any extra oil without putting all the products on your skin that can dry it out.
Good luck!! Make sure your makeup doesn't clog pores either! I wash my face twice daily and my skin has cleared up perfectly from doing this and I used to get lots of oil and I used to have acne scars from my pimples. Even those faded!

I find it at the grocery store. Do you have HEB where you live? They sell it there.. if not I'd try another store or a drugstore.

First of all there are all kinds of face washes and cleansers that work really good. I LOVE LOVE Clean and Clear products. I used to use them all the time when I was in highschool, but switched to ProActiv and some other products. But, I finally went out and bought the Clean and Clear foaming face wash and it makes my face feel sooooo good. Clean and Clear are my favorites, but Noxema also has some good face washes. I like Neutrogena, but I had the MOST horrible reaction to it and get really nervous about using Neutrogena on a regular basis. Everyones skin is different, so you may have to try a several to find out which one works best for you. I would definatley not recommend to wash your face with oil. Not only would your face feel greasy but, I don't think it would do a good job of getting the dirt and gunk off the face. You need a good moisturize and make sure all your make-up is oil free. Sometimes I forget to check on that and it makes a really big difference. For pimples at night, after I wash my face I either put toothpaste on them or I have a sulfur mask from ProActiv and I put some of that on them. It dries them up very quickly. Also, like somebody else said the Queen Helene Mint Julepe mask is some good stuff. Many people on this board have mentioned about the aspirin mask. It is for clearing up blackheads and clogged pores. Do a search on it and you will find out some good info. It's really cheap home remedy and easy to use.
