View Full Version : Protein in urine

Hubby was recently in for his 2 year physical for his CDL. On the physical form I saw that he had a reading of 3% or plus 3 marked for protein in his urine. The urine was negative for sugar. I was just wondering what this means? Apparently it is nothing to be worried about as the Dr. never said anything about it. I am just curious as to what this could mean.

It may not be anything to worry about but on the other hand doctors do not bother to mention when something lands in the abnormal column of lab report. "WE" must ask questions when we see something.

After exercise protein will show up in the urine. Did your husband exercise before going for lab work?

Sluggish kidneys may be able to handle the protein excretion properly.

Excess amount of protein in meals day before test may have something to do with it also.

Best to ask doctor to explain. Ask questions, ask questions, ask questions, it is the only way to find out.
